Turn Any Chat Into an AI Teammate

You've already built something valuable in your chats with AI. You just haven't saved it yet. Here's how to capture what works and make it repeatable.

The Shift That Changes Everything

Most people treat AI chats as disposable. A question answered, a task done, then gone. But when a chat works really well — when you get exactly what you needed — that conversation contains something valuable: implicit instructions that can be extracted and reused.

The Mental Model Shift

From one-off chats to reusable teammates

Before
"I had a good chat. Now it's done."
After
"I had a good chat. Now I have a template for a teammate."

You'll Need a Paid Plan

Projects and Gems are premium features. All three platforms offer them at similar price points — roughly $20/month. Here's what you need:

The Magic Prompt

Copy this. Paste it at the end of any successful chat. It will handle the extraction for you.

I want to turn what we just did into a reusable project. Based on our conversation, create: 1. A clear, descriptive name for this project 2. Custom instructions that capture how I want this assistant to behave, what context it needs, and what it should do well 3. 3-5 starter prompts that would help me (or someone else) use this effectively 4. A list of any files or reference materials I should upload to make this work better Write these so I can copy and paste them directly into a new project. Format the custom instructions as a ready-to-use system prompt.

Examples: Chats Worth Turning Into Projects

Here are common scenarios where this workflow pays off immediately.

Scenario

Podcast Guest Research

You asked AI to research a guest, find their background, notable work, and interesting questions to ask. It took some back-and-forth to get the depth right.

Create a "Guest Research" project that knows your show's format and generates prep docs in your preferred structure every time.
Scenario

Email Drafting in Your Voice

You worked with AI to draft an important email. After a few rounds, it nailed your tone — professional but warm, direct but not harsh.

Create an "Email Assistant" project with your voice baked in. Upload example emails so it learns your patterns.
Scenario

Customer Research Synthesis

You uploaded interview transcripts and asked AI to find patterns, pull key quotes, and identify opportunities. The synthesis was exactly what you needed.

Create a "Research Analyst" project with your framework. It'll approach every new batch of research the same way.

Start With Your Last Good Chat

Think about a recent conversation where AI really delivered. Go back to it right now and paste the magic prompt. In five minutes, you'll have your first AI teammate.
